Falkenberg Sets New Guest Night Record – Again!
Falkenberg continues to solidify its position as Halland’s most popular destination. In 2024, the municipality registered an impressive 891,446 guest nights, representing a 1.1% increase from the previous year’s record of 881,784, according to Statistics Sweden (SCB).
International Guests Drive Growth
While the Swedish market showed a marginal increase, international guests truly stood out. In 2024, international guest nights increased by 6%, with Danish visitors leading the growth. Danish guest nights reached 21,561, a remarkable 23.5% increase. Norwegian guests remain the largest international group, accounting for 43,849 guest nights.
Leading Halland’s Tourism
Falkenberg firmly establishes itself as Halland’s most visited municipality in terms of guest nights. With 891,446 guest nights, it surpasses Halmstad, which recorded 828,410 in 2024.
Diverse Accommodation Options
Camping continues to be a predominant accommodation choice, with over 50% of all overnight stays occurring at camping facilities. Beyond coastal and inland campsites, Falkenberg offers a wide range of lodging – from intimate bed and breakfasts to high-end hotel establishments.
“We see a continuing positive trend, and Falkenberg is more attractive than ever. Gekås Ullared is a significant driver and one of our success factors. With the new hotel concept launching near the E6 highway by Strawberry this autumn 2025, we’ll be able to welcome even more guests,” says Fredrik Janson, CEO of Destination Falkenberg.
The steady growth in tourism highlights Falkenberg’s ongoing appeal as a versatile and welcoming destination for both domestic and international travelers.
