    Gregorius Market Opens: A Thousand-Year-Old Tradition Comes Alive in Östersund

    From March 6-8, Destination Östersund is hosting the Gregoriemarknaden, a market with a rich history spanning a thousand years. This vibrant event promises an exciting mix of local and national exhibitors, entertainment, and unique experiences.

    Market Highlights

    Bea Olsson, the market general, shares her excitement: “We have worked hard to increase local exhibitors, but interest has been high from across the country. We have over 80 market stalls, and we’re looking forward to a market filled with wonderful products in food, crafts, and much more.”

    Market Location and Setup

    The market area will be located along Vinterparken, with a food court at Badhusparken’s stage featuring 11 food vendors and live entertainment.

    Detailed Program

    Thursday (12:00-18:00)

    • Electronic shooting with Tord Wiksten Event
    • 15:00: Live performance by Bottleneck John
    • Helicopter flights over Östersund

    Friday (10:00-18:00)

    • Circus activities and face painting with Cirkus Kul & Bus
    • Live performances by Bottleneck John
    • Helicopter flights over Östersund

    Saturday (10:00-16:00)

    • Circus activities and face painting
    • 12:00: Crowning of “Årets Gregorius” (Gregorius of the Year)
    • Live performances by Trubaduren & Trubaduran and Bottleneck John
    • Helicopter flights over Östersund

    Gregorius of the Year Award

    On Saturday at 12:00, the annual Gregorius Award will be presented. This 34th edition honors a person or organization that has made an outstanding contribution positively impacting the region’s profile.
