The Success of ‘Taste the Kattegattleden’ Continues in 2023

The popular ‘Taste the Kattegattleden’ event is being organized for the fifth consecutive year. This year, twelve unique tours with different themes and taste experiences are offered along the Kattegattleden cycling route. The tours are conducted in collaboration between local organizers and food and culture entrepreneurs.

Several tours have already taken place during spring and early summer, with high interest from participants. While many tours have been fully booked, there are still opportunities to join some of the unique tours scheduled for July, August, and September.

Local Flavors and Cycling Adventures

Destination Apelviken, a recurring participant, organizes the ‘Cycle Flavors in Varberg’ tour. Edvard Wiberg from Destination Apelviken explains the event’s popularity:

“I think the reason why it is such a popular event is a combination of different factors. First and foremost, it’s the simplicity of cycling along beautiful views at your own pace and with your own, pleasant company. Then we have a fantastic collaboration with some of the absolute best restaurateurs and service people in the municipality, which makes the taste experience at each stop something out of the ordinary.”

A newcomer to the event is Pernilla Lindeberg, who organizes the ‘Gourmet Pedal Kattegattleden’ tour. Starting from Helsingborg, the tour takes participants along scenic cycle paths with delightful taste stops along the coast to Viken.

“Working with local producers who are passionate about their production and everyday life is delightful. We have lots of dedicated manufacturers in Skåne,” says Pernilla Lindberg.

Tours still available for booking in July, August, and September include:

• Danish and Hoj – Sea: A taste experience focusing on Danish seafood classics
• Danish and Hoj – Cheese: A tour focusing on Danish handcrafted cheeses
• Gourmet Pedal Kattegattleden: A gourmet experience with lunch, licorice tasting, and wine tasting
• Taste of Skrea: A flavorful cycling tour for epicures with 8 stops at food and beverage entrepreneurs
• Taste of Falkenberg: A tour between farm shops and breweries showcasing the best Falkenberg has to offer
• Cycle Flavors Varberg: A taste experience with 5 stops and tastings at some of Varberg’s best restaurateurs

‘Taste the Kattegattleden’ is a collection of smaller events under a common name, organized in collaboration between Kattegattleden’s ten municipalities, Region Halland, Region Skåne, and entrepreneurs along the route.
