Halmstad Takes First Step Towards a More Bookable Tourism Industry
Destination Halmstad is taking a significant stride to make Halmstad more accessible and bookable. Through a collaboration with GoTo HUB, the local tourism industry will now have a platform where businesses can package, sell, and market their services easily and smoothly.
A Strategic Partnership for Tourism Development
Marcus Andreasson, Marketing Manager at Destination Halmstad, emphasized the strategic nature of this initiative:
“Destination Halmstad continuously works to promote Halmstad and its tourism industry effectively and inspirationally. We want to ensure maximum impact for our businesses. Therefore, we are now introducing this bookability opportunity. This is a development area where we see great potential for the entire tourism sector.”
Key Features of the New Platform
- Provision-based platform with no start-up or monthly fees
- Enables local actors to connect and reach more customers
- Part of a larger destination development project led by Visit Halland
Future Vision and Collaboration
Andreasson further highlighted the collaborative approach:
“This is an initiative to strengthen collaborations within the tourism industry and create more business opportunities. By packaging and selling experiences together, companies can also promote and sell each other. We see fantastic potential. It is through development, activity, and collaborations that added value is created for our tourism industry and users.”
Platform Launch Details
The platform will be launched gradually, starting with a basic collection of experiences that will be progressively expanded. Two informational seminars are scheduled:
- April 1st at 10:00 AM – Physical meeting
- April 9th at 9:00 AM – Digital webinar
During these sessions, participants will receive an introduction to the platform, concrete usage examples, and information on how to join.
Broader Regional Ambitions
While Halmstad is the first to test this concept, the ambition is to enable more municipalities in the region to join in the future.
