    Rich History of Grötvik

The festival’s name, “Stone Cutter Days,” pays homage to Grötvik’s history. Stone quarrying began here in the mid-19th century, employing over 500 people around the turn of the century. Today, Grötvik is a popular destination known for its blend of nature, culture, and outdoor activities.

    Sustainable Travel Options

Visitors are encouraged to use eco-friendly transportation:

    • Walk or cycle from Halmstad or Tylösand
    • Take public bus lines 5 or 15 to Stenhuggeriet
    • Use the free mini train from the bus stop

Parking is limited, so carpooling is recommended for those driving.

Don’t miss this wonderful opportunity to experience the charm of Grötvik and learn about its fascinating stone cutting heritage!
