Falkenberg Joins Naturkartan: Enhancing Access to Nature’s Wonders
In a bid to improve accessibility to Falkenberg’s stunning natural attractions, hiking trails, and outdoor activities, the municipality has partnered with Naturkartan, Sweden’s leading digital map service and outdoor guide.
A New Era for Outdoor Enthusiasts
Naturkartan, available both as a mobile app and on desktop, offers user-friendly GPS-enabled features that showcase hiking trails, nature reserves, beaches, attractions, barbecue spots, and much more. The guide also provides practical information such as parking locations and toilets, ensuring a smooth experience for nature lovers.
“We already showcase a fantastic range of what Falkenberg’s nature has to offer on Falkenberg.se, but this will take accessibility to a whole new level,” says Åsa Bengtsson, project manager at Destination Falkenberg.
Collaborative Effort
The mapping of local content in Naturkartan is a joint effort between Destination Falkenberg, KFT, and the County Administrative Board, each responsible for different aspects of nature. Contributions from local associations, including hiking trails, barbecue areas, wind shelters, and other meeting places, will also be gradually added.
Interactive and User-Friendly
App users can report any issues or damages, with information sent directly to the responsible authority. This feature ensures prompt attention to maintenance needs.
“It is a very convenient tool that we believe will benefit outdoor life in our local area and also provide opportunities for more people to discover it,” Åsa Bengtsson adds.
Exploring Falkenberg’s Natural Treasures
With this new partnership, visitors and locals alike can easily explore Falkenberg’s natural wonders, from serene hiking trails to pristine beaches. The integration of Naturkartan promises to enhance the outdoor experience in this beautiful Swedish destination.
