Award Motivation
The award committee’s motivation states:
“The Tourism Company of the Year 2023 award is presented to the Läckö Castle Foundation, which with its multifaceted operations attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors every year. In addition to the obvious crown jewel Läckö Castle, the foundation has created a destination within the destination with Naturum Victoriahuset, hotel, guest harbor and camping, and by being a dynamic event venue for both its own produced offerings and for other event organizers.
The operations at Läckö Castle are significant for the entire area’s tourism industry and is a place where companies develop. In 2023, the Hvita Hjorten restaurant was re-recruited and Café Trulsson opened at Läckö. The operation is also engaged in and contributes to the destination’s overall development, which is reflected in the work with sustainable transport and development of hiking and cycling trails.
The year at Läckö has been filled with magic with major events such as Benjamin Ingrosso and the opera Macbeth in combination with the wide range of exhibitions, culinary adventures, lectures and family activities at the castle, in Naturum and at other actors who together act as an engine for visitor flows all year round.”
Jan Malmgren, CEO of Läckö Castle, expressed his surprise and gratitude: “What a surprise, it feels really great to receive this award! It’s especially nice that it’s recognized that we are increasingly working to develop new collaborations with various partners, it’s very important to us. A big thank you to my employees who are fantastic, it is thanks to them that it is possible to carry out all activities and be able to offer the fine program we have during the year.”
