Antikrundan Coming to Örebro: A Fantastic Opportunity to Showcase Our City
Örebro has been selected as one of six Swedish cities to host the popular TV show Antikrundan (Antiques Roadshow) this summer. On September 1st, the well-known antique experts and host Anne Lundberg will be at Frimis to meet Örebro residents and evaluate antique items. The event will be filmed as part of the 36th season of the successful SVT series.
Pernilla Körberg Törnqvist, head of meetings and events at Örebrokompaniet, expressed her excitement: This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase our city. It’s completely in line with our mission at Örebrokompaniet to market Örebro to different target groups and get more people to discover all the great things that exist and are happening here.
A Strategic Choice
The selection of Örebro as a filming location was not by chance. Örebrokompaniet, along with several local stakeholders, worked intensively to demonstrate that Örebro is the right place for this type of event. The SVT production team traveled around the country, visiting locations and evaluating them based on various criteria.
Perfect Location in the Heart of the City
Frimis was chosen as the ideal venue, which comes as no surprise to Pernilla Körberg Törnqvist. The ability to accommodate many visitors outdoors, with the beautiful surroundings of the Svartån river and Örebro Castle as a backdrop, makes the location perfect for both the event and the TV recording.
Pernilla Månsson Colt, producer of Antikrundan, stated that the SVT team is very satisfied with this year’s filming locations, all of which have a special character and are well-situated. She added, Personally, it will probably be most fun to return to Örebro, which is the city where I grew up.
In addition to Örebro, Antikrundan will visit Falsterbo, Halmstad, Norrköping, Uppsala, and Kiruna.
