Kalmar International Sandsculpture Festival 2025: Applications Now Open
The 12th annual Kalmar International Sandsculpture Festival is set to take place from July 14-18, with applications now open for artists worldwide.
A Unique Artistic Event with a Special Theme
This year’s festival introduces a groundbreaking concept: a theme called “Drömlandet” or “Land of your Dreams”. For the first time in the festival’s history, artists will be invited to explore and create sand sculptures representing their vision of an ideal world.
“In a time of significant global changes where much is at stake regarding our environment and social order, we want to give artists an opportunity to portray their dreams of a new, perhaps more imaginative world,” says Edwin Böck, artistic director of the festival.
