Popular Gyllene Tider Exhibition Extended in Halmstad
The pop-up exhibition “The Gyllene Tider Experience” in Halmstad has been a huge success, leading to numerous requests for an extension. In response to popular demand, the exhibition will now remain open throughout September.
Originally scheduled to close at the end of August, both the exhibition and the Halmstad Tourist Center will stay at their current location on Klammerdammsgatan 4 for an additional month. From September 2nd, the opening hours will be Tuesday-Thursday 10:00-13:00 and Friday-Saturday 10:00-16:00.
The premiere of the Roxette musical “Joyride” in Malmö on September 6th has also increased interest in combining a visit to the musical with a trip to see the exhibition in Halmstad. Many international visitors are taking advantage of the proximity between the two cities.
“When we designed the pop-up exhibition The Gyllene Tider Experience, we didn’t know how it would turn out or how it would be received. But we’ve had an overwhelmingly positive response. Seeing the joy and pride of all those who have memories with Gyllene Tider is heartwarming. That’s why it feels especially great to be able to accommodate the requests for an extension. Now I really hope that even more Halmstad residents will take the opportunity to pay a visit,” says Ann Johansson, development strategist at Destination Halmstad.
An Exhibition Evoking Pride and Emotions
The exhibition features interviews, songs, handwritten fan letters and lyrics, films, stage costumes, instruments, a recording studio, a dream room, karaoke, and the story of how Roxette came to be. Visitors can also leave their mark on the dream wall or in the guestbook.
Guestbook Filled with Heartfelt Messages
The exhibition is now on its second guestbook, filled with touching messages from visitors. Here are some quotes from the guestbook:
- “Now we’ve done the exhibition, read, listened, watched and sang karaoke with a nice and good guidance from Tomas. Thanks for all the music, nice memories and a fun and nice exhibition. Now we’re going to live life in Tylösand.”
