World’s Most Sought-After Travel Reason in Focus in Dalarna

Trail tourism is the most requested travel reason both internationally and nationally, according to many surveys. At the top is hiking, closely followed by cycling and guided experiences in nature, combined with an attractive mix of local food and drink experiences and culture. The annual industry meeting Forum for Nature Tourism, organized by Naturturismföretagen, will this year be hosted by Visit Dalarna in Orsa Grönklitt.

Chatarina Eriksson, CEO of Visit Dalarna, states: “We see a deepened collaboration with organizations such as Naturturismföretagen as an important step in strengthening Dalarna as a destination with quality-assured nature and cultural tourism. Together, we give companies in the visitor industry the opportunity to make more and more sustainable business – something that strengthens our position as a leading and attractive destination.”

Supporting Member Companies

Naturturismföretagen’s mission includes supporting member companies in developing attractive, quality-assured, and sustainable products through various business development initiatives. Johan Engström, Secretary General of Naturturismföretagen, adds: “The fact that we can do all this in collaboration with Visit Dalarna, who also value the same things, is valuable. Together with them and all participants, we create a common vision and build important relationships for a more competitive industry.”

Participating Speakers and Attendees

Speakers at the event will include representatives from Visit Dalarna, Naturturismföretagen, Nature’s Best quality label, Certified Nature Guide, Vasaloppet, and the National Framework for Hiking Trails. Nature tourism entrepreneurs from all over the country will participate, along with representatives from national visitor industry organizations, destinations, municipalities, and schools that educate in nature tourism.

The Forum for Nature Tourism will take place on November 12-13, as part of the Nature Tourism Week running from November 11-15.
