Tiraholms Fisk Nominated for Sweden’s Grand Tourism Prize 2024
In an exciting development for Halland’s tourism industry, Tiraholms Fisk in Hylte municipality has been nominated for Sweden’s prestigious Grand Tourism Prize (Stora Turismpriset) 2024. This nomination, put forward by Region Halland and the Destinations in Halland, recognizes the company’s outstanding contributions to sustainable tourism and local development.
A Family Business with a Rich History
Located on the shores of Lake Bolmen, on Halland’s “east coast,” Tiraholms Fisk is a family-owned enterprise founded by Vicky & Nisse Ekwall. Since the 1980s, they have transformed from a single professional fisherman to Hylte’s largest tourist attraction, welcoming over 50,000 visitors annually.
Sustainable Practices and Diverse Offerings
Tiraholms Fisk has built its success on environmentally friendly methods and a commitment to preserving the local ecosystem. Their year-round operations include:
