Premiere of Elite Weekend: “A Lavish Smorgasbord” of Sports in Lund
Lund is gearing up for an extraordinary sports extravaganza as the city prepares to host the inaugural Elite Weekend 2024. This unique event promises twelve matches across six different sports over two action-packed days, all accessible with a single ticket.
A Collaborative Effort
The Elite Weekend is a joint initiative by Lund’s top sports clubs, including Lunds VK, IBK Lund, LUGI Handboll, IK EOS, Lund Giants, and Lunds BK. This unprecedented collaboration aims to showcase the city’s diverse sporting talent and increase interest in live sports events.
Stefan Sjöström, club manager for Lunds VK and one of the driving forces behind the initiative, expressed his enthusiasm: It feels very inspiring to be able to offer the people of Lund a lavish smorgasbord of home matches for Lund teams during the Elite Weekend, together with the other associations and sports. We hope it can create ripple effects and further increase interest in live sports, where Lund has so much to offer.
Event Details
The Elite Weekend will take place on Saturday and Sunday, September 28-29, 2024. Spectators can enjoy matches in volleyball, floorball, handball, basketball, ice hockey, and football – all sports in which Lund competes at high levels.
