Roxette in Concert Coming to Halmstad Next Summer!
Exciting news for music fans in Sweden! Roxette, the legendary pop duo, is set to perform in Halmstad on July 26, 2025, as part of their upcoming world tour. This will be one of only two stops in Sweden, making it a must-see event for fans across the country.
A Triumphant Return
After what was thought to be their final concerts in 2016, Roxette founder Per Gessle is bringing the band’s golden collection of worldwide hits back to the stage. The tour will feature stops in South Africa, Australia, and Europe throughout 2025.
Per Gessle expressed his excitement, saying: 2025 will be a big Roxette year! First South Africa and Australia in the spring, and then a European tour in the summer. And of course, it feels extra fantastic to play on home turf, on the west coast of Sweden. Lena and I and the whole gang will be at our best. See you there!
Lena Philipsson Joins the Tour
Adding to the excitement, Swedish pop star Lena Philipsson will be joining Roxette for all tour dates. Philipsson recently collaborated with Gessle on the single “Sällskapssjuk,” and her presence promises to bring an extra dimension to the performances.
Tickets On Sale Soon
Tickets for the Halmstad concert will go on sale on October 18 at 11:00 AM through LiveNation.se. Additionally, Halmstad Tourist Center has been given a unique opportunity to sell 300 tickets on-site at Klammerdammsgatan 4.
A Tribute to Marie Fredriksson
While the loss of Marie Fredriksson to cancer nearly five years ago was devastating, her musical legacy lives on. The 2025 tour will celebrate the vast catalogue of songs created by Per Gessle, bringing them to life for both long-time fans and new listeners alike.
The Gyllene Tider Experience
Visitors to Halmstad Tourist Center can also explore The Gyllene Tider Experience exhibition, which features a handwritten letter from Per to Marie, inviting her to meet at Konditori Regnbågen in Halmstad to discuss forming a duo. This historical artifact offers a glimpse into the beginnings of what would become one of Sweden’s most successful music exports.
Ann Johansson, Development Strategist at Destination Halmstad, commented: It is with great joy that we welcome Roxette, now with Lena Ph as Per Gessle’s partner, to Brottet and Halmstad. The fact that Halmstad is one of two venues in Sweden feels extra fun and honorable, it’s a really great concert summer we have ahead of us. Something that is possible thanks to good contacts and good cooperation between the parties involved.
Don’t miss this opportunity to experience Roxette’s timeless hits live in the beautiful setting of Halmstad next summer!
