Christmas Festivities Are About to Begin in Skövde
The holiday season is approaching, and Skövde is preparing for the most cozy time of the year with Christmas markets and events in the city center.
Barnens Jul (Children’s Christmas): First Advent Highlights
On the first advent, the focus is on children’s activities at Duke Johan’s Square. The event promises a delightful array of experiences, including:
- Roasting marshmallows with crackers over a campfire
- Christmas wreath and Christmas tree sales
- Watch Elim Church’s live nativity scene
- Pony sulky rides
- Meet Santa and submit wish lists
- Alpaca petting
- Inauguration of a Christmas calendar exhibition
Christmas Market: A Festive Shopping Experience
On Saturday, December 7th, the city center will host a vibrant Christmas market. Vendors will offer everything from handmade candles and wreaths to delicacies. Local school classes will sell homemade goods, and visitors can enjoy Schlätta burgers and Dutch Deli Delicius’ treats.
Young Entrepreneurs Market
On Sunday, December 8th, UF companies from Skaraborg will sell their products. Visitors can discover creative and unique Christmas gifts developed by local youth entrepreneurs.
“Our hope is that many visitors will come to the city to experience the cozy Christmas atmosphere in Skövde,” says Katarina Blad, responsible for events and meetings at Next Skövde.
