Festive Christmas Celebrations Coming to Skövde’s City Center
Christmas is just around the corner, and Skövde is preparing for the most cozy holiday season with Christmas markets and events in the city center.
Children’s Christmas Day Highlights
The first Advent will focus on children with “Children’s Christmas in the City” at Duke Johan’s Square. Visitors can expect:
- A cozy craft corner
- Cute alpacas and ponies
- A visit from Santa Claus himself
Event Program Highlights
- Roasting marshmallows with Billingen Skövde
- Christmas wreath and Christmas tree sales
- Watch Elim Church’s “Living Nativity” performance
- Pony sulky rides
- Meet Santa and leave your wish list
- Pet alpacas
- Opening of Christmas calendar exhibition
Christmas Market Details
On Saturday, December 7th, the city center will host a Christmas Market. Vendors will offer handmade candles, wreaths, and delicacies. Local school classes will also sell homemade goods, and food options include Schlätta burgers and Dutch Deli Delicius treats.
Young Entrepreneurs Market
On Sunday, December 8th, UF companies from Skaraborg will sell their unique, creative products developed by young entrepreneurs.
“Our hope is that many visitors will come to the city to experience the cozy Christmas atmosphere in Skövde,” says Katarina Blad, responsible for events and meetings at Next Skövde.
