Christmas Festivities Coming Soon to Downtown Skövde
The holiday season is approaching, and Skövde is preparing for the most cozy time of the year with Christmas markets and downtown events.
First Advent: A Family-Friendly Christmas Celebration
On the first advent, the focus will be on children with “Children’s Christmas in the City” at Duke Johan’s Square. Highlights include:
- Roasting marshmallows with Billingen Skövde
- Christmas wreath and tree sales
- Watch Elim Church’s “Living Nativity” performance
- Pony sulky rides
- Meet Santa and leave wish lists
- Alpaca petting
- Inauguration of a Christmas calendar exhibition
Christmas Market Delights
On Saturday, December 7th, the city center will host a Christmas market filled with vendors offering handmade candles, wreaths, and delicacies. Local school classes will sell homemade goods, and food lovers can enjoy Schlätta burgers and Dutch Deli Delicius’ treats.
Young Entrepreneurs’ Christmas Market
On Sunday, December 8th, UF companies from Skaraborg will sell their unique, creative Christmas gifts developed by young entrepreneurs.
“Our hope is that many visitors will come downtown to experience the cozy Christmas atmosphere in Skövde,” says Katarina Blad, responsible for events and meetings at Next Skövde.
