Skövde Citysamverkan Launches New Cultural Prize at City’s First Culture and Sports Festival
Skövde Citysamverkan has established a new cultural prize to be awarded on February 8, 2025, during Skövde’s inaugural Culture and Sports Festival. This innovative festival aims to create a unique meeting place for Skövde’s local organizations and activities focused on culture and sports.
During the festival, Skövde Citysamverkan will present its new cultural prize to a local organization, association, or company that contributes to a vibrant city center through cultural initiatives. The prize will recognize actors who create conditions for a rich cultural life, including areas such as dance, gaming, art, music, theater, literature, and photography.
Prize Purpose and Significance
“Culture plays a crucial role in a living city center. Statistics show that turnover increases in city centers with various cultural initiatives, and we also see that our visitor flows increase during cultural events in Skövde. Highlighting cultural initiatives in the city felt obvious to us, and we hope many will nominate a company, association, or organization that has done something extraordinary during the year, big or small,”
says Emma Edqvist, destination developer for Skövde Citysamverkan/Next Skövde.
The primary goal of the prize is to showcase current cultural efforts and encourage more cultural initiatives in the city center.
