Skövde Ghost Walk: A New Autumn Experience for Adults

This fall, Skövde is introducing an exciting new historical city walk with elements of real events, myths, and legends. The Skövde Ghost Walk, launching during the autumn break, is a collaboration between Skövde Municipality’s cultural unit and Skövde City Collaboration. Linnéa Lundell, the museum educator at Skövde City Museum and an experienced guide, will lead these unique walks.

“Collaborations like these are exactly what museum staff dream of – when businesses and people outside the cultural heritage industry realize that history is not just a list of dates and facts, but stories that live on through time and space. The fun part about doing a historical ghost walk is that it’s an excellent opportunity to re-enchant places that are often perceived as ordinary. The more I dig into archives, artifact collections, and libraries, the more entertaining Skövde’s history and the places I move around in everyday life become. I hope I can convey the same feeling to those I guide,” says Linnéa Lundell, museum educator at Skövde City Museum.

The walk is a blend of a classic historical city tour and a ghost walk, focusing on the experience of each location’s fascinating history. Emma Edqvist, destination developer at Citysamverkan/Next Skövde, explains:

“Many people, including myself, are fascinated by the darker and more horrible aspects of history. Thanks to the cultural unit’s knowledge and work, we finally have a Halloween product for adults. This is a walk for both those who want to learn more about Skövde’s history with real events such as executions and murders, but there are also elements of myths and old tales. It becomes a different evening activity where you gain some knowledge as a bonus.”

The Skövde Ghost Walk is suitable for adults, with limited spots available. Visitors must pre-book their place for this unique experience that promises to bring Skövde’s history to life in an engaging and slightly spooky way.

For those interested in exploring Skövde’s darker past and experiencing the city from a new perspective, the Skövde Ghost Walk offers an unforgettable autumn adventure.

Learn more about this exciting new attraction and book your spot for an eerie historical journey through Skövde.
