Exciting New Additions to Kinnekulle Spring Tour 2024

The annual Kinnekulle Spring Tour returns on May 4-5, 2024, offering visitors a chance to experience the beauty of nature and meet local artisans as spring arrives in the region. This year’s event features several exciting new additions, including new exhibitors, a new location for the collective exhibition, and the introduction of a Spring Tour bus service.

    New Spring Tour Bus Service

For the first time, visitors can experience the Spring Tour by bus. This guided tour provides easy access to the event’s offerings without the hassle of navigating crowded parking areas. The bus departs from Lidköping and is coordinated with public transportation from Skövde, Trollhättan, and Gothenburg.

    New Location for Collective Exhibition

The collective exhibition has moved to a new venue this year – the Great Greenhouse at Hellekis Manor. This serves as an ideal starting point for visitors to gain inspiration and plan their tour of the various participating locations.

    New Exhibitors and Experiences

This year’s Spring Tour welcomes about 10 new participants, including:

    • American artist Cathrine Rogers, showcasing her work in her Österäng studio
    • LR Minerals Sweden Stone Shop, offering geological products and tools
    • Kinnekulle Window Craftsmanship in Hällekis, providing tips on renovating old windows
    • Rustsäter Stone House, featuring a new book on local history
    • Hörsägen Storytellers, presenting family-friendly theatrical performances
    • New attractions in central Götene, including Blomstrande hem and Galleri Hemmavé

    Commitment to Sustainability

Maria Henriksson, chairperson of Mötesplats Kinnekulle, highlights the event’s commitment to sustainability:

“It is so exciting that we have several new features at this year’s Spring Tour Kinnekulle. Another new development is that Spring Tour Kinnekulle has joined the Sustainability Step, which is West Sweden’s collective initiative for sustainable tourism and is run by the West Sweden Tourist Board. The event engages over 90 actors in the Kinnekulle area. It is built around long-term socially sustainable structures based on a strong and cohesive rural cluster where creators and residents together create opportunities to live-work in the countryside. The event offers niche locally produced products in a circular system that encourages both distinctiveness and innovation.”

The Spring Tour is organized by the Mötesplats Kinnekulle association. For more information about the event and participating exhibitors, visit www.motesplatskinnekulle.se.
