Behind the Scenes of SM-Veckan: An Interview with Agneta Johansson
The SM-Veckan Winter 2025 is rapidly approaching, and preparations are in full swing in Borås. Behind the scenes, numerous dedicated individuals are working to ensure everything runs smoothly. Agneta Johansson is one of those central figures focused on parasports and accessibility.
Agneta’s Role in SM-Veckan
With her background as a project leader for RF-SISU Sjuhärad and experience as a sports consultant, Johansson is committed to making SM-Veckan an inclusive and accessible celebration for everyone.
Her Key Responsibilities
“I ensure training opportunities for associations and volunteers focused on Parasports. I also make sure the venues have the necessary adaptations for competitions to be carried out. The venues should be accessible for both competitors and the audience. It’s important that the practical aspects work so everyone feels welcome.”
What She’s Most Looking Forward To
“Parasports, without a doubt! I sit on the parasport committee for cross-country skiing and biathlon, so I’m really looking forward to para cross-country skiing at Borås Ski Stadium. I’m also especially curious about boccia, which will be played in the tennis hall. It will be exciting to see athletes from across Sweden make fantastic performances!”
Must-See Events
“The big SM Festival on PA Hall’s terrace is a must. It will be a wonderful meeting place for everyone! Then there are the ski competitions at the Ski Stadium, and all activities organized by RF-SISU like try-on activities and lectures. RF-SISU will have try-on activities at three venues during SM-Veckan: the Ice Hall from Wednesday to Friday, the Ski Stadium from Thursday to Saturday, and Borås Tennis and Boule Center on Saturday.”
The Essence of SM-Veckan
“It’s the joy, the meetings, and the community that make SM-Veckan so special. You get to meet so many different people – people you might never have otherwise met. And for those of us working on SM-Veckan, being accessible is important. So if you see someone wearing an SM-Veckan cap – come over and say hello!”
This interview is part of a series exploring the people behind the Borås 2025 SM-Veckan, an event where people meet, sports flourish, and Borås gets a chance to showcase its commitment to sports at both national and local levels.
