Linné March Expands, Aims for 10,000 Participants for 50th Anniversary
The Linné March, Sweden’s largest hiking event, is set to celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2027 with ambitious expansion plans. Hestra IF, the organizing association, is targeting an impressive increase from 2,500 to 10,000 participants.
A Legendary Hiking Event
Since its inception in 1977, the Linné March has been a popular annual event, with routes ranging from 6-kilometer family adventures to nearly 60-kilometer two-day hikes. The event starts and finishes at Borås Arena, showcasing the beautiful surroundings of Borås.
New Corporate Event Initiative
This year, the organization is launching a new corporate event focused on community and health. According to Linné March General Stefan Aroneng, “Now we’re giving companies and organizations the opportunity to invest in a team activity that focuses on community and health – with a nature experience as a bonus. It feels exactly right and is timely with an event without competitive moments and tough challenges.”

- Date: Friday, April 25th
- Location: Borås Arena
- Flexible Start Time: 2 PM – 4 PM
- Route Length: 10.5 kilometers
- Route Description: Along Viskan River, over Rya Åsar, and back to Borås Arena
- Post-Event: Buffet with entertainment (After Walk)
Strategic Partnerships
Hestra IF has strengthened its non-profit organization and established new collaborations with local businesses. They’ve also expanded their partnership with Borås TME, the destination company.
