New Year’s Eve Celebration at Stora Torget 2023

For the third consecutive year, a public New Year’s celebration will be held at Stora Torget in Borås. The new year will be welcomed with an hour of festivities at midnight.

This year’s New Year’s celebration at Stora Torget will once again feature light, sound, and fire. For one hour, residents and visitors of Borås can celebrate the stroke of midnight together and experience fire artists, dancers, and DJ Gino.

“Last year, Stora Torget was transformed into a pulsating dance floor, with thousands of people counting down and celebrating the new year together. We definitely want to create that experience again, where Stora Torget becomes a natural meeting place for all generations and cultures,” says Anna Liljenby, city life coordinator at Borås TME.

This is the third year in a row that a public New Year’s celebration is being organized at Stora Torget. The first celebration took place during Borås’ 400th anniversary in 2021 and was arranged to celebrate the end of the year but was also a stepping stone towards the future.

The festivities on New Year’s Eve will take place from 23:30 to 00:30 and are organized by Borås TME. The event is free from fireworks and alcohol from the organizer’s side.
