Sommarlund 2024: A Summer Festival Filled with Culture and Entertainment
Lund’s beloved summer festival, Sommarlund, is back for its 14th year, promising a packed program of cultural experiences for all ages. Running from June 15 to August 9, the festival offers around 160 activities throughout the municipality.

A Festival for Everyone
Sebastian Jaktling, Chairman of the Culture and Leisure Committee, emphasizes the importance of Sommarlund: “Sommarlund is one of our biggest initiatives at this time of year. The fact that something is happening at home means a lot to many Lund residents. We see both breadth and excellence in the offerings, and it means a lot to us that there is something for everyone.”
Showcasing Lund as a Summer Destination
Samuel Jonsson, Chairman of Visit Lund, adds: “There is a myth about Lund as a city where nothing happens in the summer. We want to kill that myth. Sommarlund really shows how much is happening both in Lund and its surroundings. We can offer fantastic environments that show that Lund is a fantastic summer city.”
Key Venues and Events
The White Stage in Stadsparken will host concerts by Lisa Ekdahl, Rickard Söderberg, and Blacknuss, among others. Botulfsplatsen will be transformed into an Italian-French style square, adding to the festival atmosphere.
Family-Friendly Fun
The popular Children’s Day returns with performances, workshops, creative activities, bouncy castles, and more, ensuring entertainment for the youngest festival-goers.
Creating a Diverse Program
Lotta Brusk, project manager for Sommarlund, shares the challenge and joy of organizing such a large event: “The challenge and joy is to put together a program where, hopefully, everyone finds something they like. A varied program that arouses curiosity, with old favorites and new experiences.”
About Sommarlund
Sommarlund offers hundreds of cultural experiences for all ages throughout Lund, all summer long. Almost everything is free and mostly outdoors at various locations in the municipality. The full program is available digitally at sommarlund.se from May 31, with printed versions available soon after at libraries, citizen centers, and InfoPoints.
