Spooky Fun at Örebro Castle – Ghost Town Returns
This autumn break, Örebro Castle transforms into Ghost Town – a place filled with cozy thrills for visitors of all ages. Some activities are free, while others require tickets.
“This year, Ghost Town at Örebro Castle is bigger than ever. There’s so much happening, both inside and around the castle,” says Johanna Bjelkengren from Örebro Castle/Örebrokompaniet.
Opening Night Spectacle
Ghost Town kicks off on Friday, October 25th at 17:30 with a performance by the duo Scarlet, known from Melodifestivalen, in Henry Allards park. This will be followed by the lighting of popular giant skulls and an impressive laser light show on the castle’s southern facade. The light show continues nightly throughout the week, with extra spectacular effects every half hour.
Ghost Tours for All Ages
The spooky offerings include exciting ghost tours, with versions for both adults and children/youth. These tours are based on the castle’s darker history and feature both thrilling stories and technological elements.
“We can’t change the castle’s history, but we’ve thought of new ways to present it,” reveals Johanna Bjelkengren.
New Celebrity Activity Nearly Sold Out
A new addition to the program is a ghost evening with a secret celebrity. Masked celebrities will read spooky stories on one of the castle’s terraces, with children guessing who’s behind the mask afterwards. This event has proven extremely popular, with two out of three evenings already sold out.
Castle Exploration and Activities for Little Ones
Visitors can explore the castle’s rooms and nooks on their own, including normally locked areas like the attic and dark cellars. For the youngest guests, Little Ghost Laban will appear with storytimes and a lively – and completely free – ghost disco in the courtyard.
Ghost Town runs from October 25th to November 3rd. For more information, visit orebroslott.se.
