Premiere of the Terror Run: A Thrilling New Event in Kalmar
On Saturday, October 19th, Kalmar will witness the inaugural Terror Run, an exciting combination of running, obstacle course, and horror elements. This unique event promises participants an extra adrenaline boost as they navigate through the city’s historic center.
A Spine-Chilling 5K Course
The Terror Run takes place in the heart of Kalmar, challenging participants to complete a 5-kilometer course that winds through urban landscapes, shadowy forest areas, and past historical landmarks like Kalmar Castle. Along the route, organizers have created a frightening atmosphere with eerie surprises, both in the form of props and live actors.
“The Terror Run is an exciting experience where we combine excitement, physical challenge, and a hefty dose of fear. We have created a course that takes runners through both Kalmar’s historical heart and dark, wooded areas, where elements of an obstacle course and surprises lurk. This is not just a race, it’s an experience that will make your pulse race a little faster. We look forward to welcoming both brave runners and curious spectators to a standout event,” says Tommy Johansson from the organizer Globex event.
Event Details
- Main race starts at 5:00 PM, after nightfall
- A shorter children’s race for ages 8-14 will take place earlier in the day
- The children’s race is a mini-version of the main course, adapted for younger participants
A New Attraction for Kalmar
Frida Petersson, project manager for sports events at Destination Kalmar, expresses excitement about this new addition to Kalmar’s event calendar:
“It’s fun to be able to present something new that hasn’t existed in Kalmar before. In the autumn, many people want to experience spooky events such as ghost walks and night walks. The Terror Run will be a great complement – and will be something extra special.”
The Terror Run is organized by Globex event in collaboration with Destination Kalmar, adding a thrilling new dimension to the city’s autumn attractions.
