    Jönköping Hosts National Agility Dog Championships!

    Jönköping to Host National Agility Championships in 2026

    For the first time, Jönköping will host the Swedish National Agility Championships. This exciting event will bring together Sweden’s top agility dog teams for a thrilling competition weekend from June 26-28, 2026, at Rosenlunds IP in Jönköping.

    Event Highlights

    • Approximately 700 dog and handler teams will compete
    • Both individual and team championships will be awarded
    • First-time host for this prestigious national event

    “We are really looking forward to welcoming this event to Jönköping next summer. Agility is an exciting and spectator-friendly sport that we hope will attract many visitors,” says Helena Lindgren, Meetings and Events Coordinator at Destination Jönköping.

    About the Venue

    Rosenlunds IP offers excellent football fields and picturesque surroundings, providing an ideal arena for a memorable agility experience.

    “We are very happy that next year’s Championship will be held in Jönköping. It will be the summer’s gathering point for our agility-active participants who have competed throughout the year to qualify for the Championships,” says Krister Andreasson, Chairman of the Swedish Agility Club.

    Event Organization

    The Championships will be organized by the Swedish Agility Club in collaboration with three experienced working dog clubs: Jönköping BK, Ulricehamns BK, and Tranås BK.

    About Agility Sport in Sweden

    Agility is a fast-growing and exciting sport in Sweden, with nearly 5,000 participants nationwide. During the Championships, teams will compete individually and in teams, combining speed and precision.

    Competition Details

    • Qualification period: Mid-May 2025 to Mid-May 2026
    • Dogs divided into five size classes based on shoulder height
    • Individual competition requires qualification through two initial qualifying rounds
    • Team competition determined by combined results from agility and jumping classes
