Third Edition of Östersund Winter Eco Rally Kicks Off This Friday
The VMT JÄMTLAND Motor Club has been selected by the International Automobile Federation (FIA) to organize the first leg of the Bridgestone FIA ECO Rally Cup 2025.

Unique Rally Concept
The rally will be held on regular roads, where ideal time and energy consumption are combined parameters for determining the winner. A special prize will be awarded to the team consuming the least energy.
“The cars used are standard electric vehicles, which provides insight into which electric cars perform well from an energy perspective in cold climates,” says Thomas Fuchs, chairman of the organizing club.
Sustainability Focus
Östersund aims to be fossil-free by 2030, and this rally perfectly aligns with that ambition. Jessica Thylin, Event Manager at Destination Östersund, highlights that the event showcases the city as a sustainable destination for both visitors and events.
Key Highlights

- Routes include Bräcke (Friday) and Gåxsjö (Saturday)
The rally will conclude with a preliminary award ceremony on Saturday, January 25th at 19:00.
