Skåne Wine Tops European Competition
In a groundbreaking blind tasting event, Swedish wines have proven their mettle against some of Europe’s finest. The Swedish Wine Tasting 2024, held at Koenigsegg in Ängelholm, saw a Skåne wine claiming the top spot among 24 carefully selected wines from across Europe.
Swedish Wine Takes the Crown
The winning wine, Immelen 2021 from Kullabergs Vingård in Skåne, outshone competitors from renowned wine regions. This victory marks a significant milestone for the Swedish wine industry, showcasing its potential on an international stage.

Following the Swedish victor, the top three were rounded out by:
- Immelen 2021, Kullabergs Vingård, Sweden (81.81 points)
- Louis Jadot Pouilly-Fuissé 2022, France (81.00 points)
- Classic Cuvée Extra Brut, Langham Culver, England (80.81 points)
Expert Panel
The tasting was conducted by 18 internationally renowned sommeliers, wine writers, and Masters of Wine, including Raimonds Tomsons (World’s Best Sommelier 2023) and Julia Harding (Master of Wine).

Peter Kullgren, Swedish Minister for Rural Affairs, commented:
