The Great Tourism Prize is a national award presented by the Foundation for Knowledge Promotion in Tourism, with the Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth as its principal. The focus is on actors who contribute to knowledge dissemination and development of the tourism industry in innovative ways.

A Unique 24-Hour Wildlife Experience

Visit Skåne’s nomination highlights Skånes Djurpark as a unique destination offering a 24-hour experience among animals in the Skåne nature. By focusing on Nordic animals in their natural habitats, the park creates memorable experiences and spreads knowledge about our natural heritage.

The park attracts both national and international visitors with accommodation options like tipi tents and Shaun the Sheep wagons nestled in nature within the park grounds. This allows guests to explore and learn more about Swedish and Skåne fauna.

About the Great Tourism Prize

The Great Tourism Prize is awarded to a company or organization that has contributed to the development of the tourism industry and its role in society in an innovative way. This year marks the 31st consecutive year of the award. Each county nominates a candidate through the regional tourism organization or equivalent. The Great Tourism Prize 2024 will be presented at the Tourism on the Agenda conference in December.
