Next Skövde’s November Newsletter: Highlights and Developments in Swedish Tourism
Swedish Travel Trends in 2024
Despite ongoing high inflation and economic challenges, Swedes continue to plan and embark on vacation trips both domestically and internationally. According to Visit Sweden’s research, 50% of Swedes aged 18-60 report that inflation has impacted their travel plans, while only 35% of those over 60 feel the same impact.
Travelers are adapting by:
- Choosing cheaper international destinations
- Reducing restaurant spending
- Traveling within Sweden
- Exploring off-peak seasons
- Seeking cost-free experiences
Encouragingly, every third Swedish traveler sees no obstacles to domestic travel in the next six months.
