Kalmar to Host TV-pucken Ice Hockey Finals in 2025
Kalmar has been selected as the venue for the TV-pucken ice hockey finals in 2025. The event will take place at Hatstore Arena from October 30 to November 2, 2025.
TV-pucken is an annual youth ice hockey tournament organized by the Swedish Ice Hockey Association for 15-year-old boys and girls. The 2025 finals will be arranged by the Småland Ice Hockey Association and Kalmar HC in collaboration with Destination Kalmar.
“We are incredibly proud and happy that TV-pucken will be played in Småland in 2025. Kalmar HC has worked for a long time to secure the event, and with a new arena and great enthusiasm around hockey, Kalmar has the best conditions for a successful TV-pucken final. We really look forward to arranging a wonderful and fast-paced final weekend focusing on youth hockey together with Kalmar HC. It will be fantastic. A warm welcome to Småland and Kalmar!”
– Anna Arvsell, Chairperson of Småland Ice Hockey Association
This marks the sixth time TV-pucken finals will be held in Småland, but the first time in Kalmar. The event is expected to generate approximately 14 million SEK in tourism revenue for the region.
“We at Kalmar HC are very proud to host the final games of TV-pucken 2025. Getting this opportunity is a testament to the good things we are doing for hockey in Kalmar, as well as another step in our work to profile Kalmar as a hockey city locally and regionally.”
– Anders Svensson, Vice Chairman, Kalmar HC
TV-pucken has been one of Sweden’s most classic sports tournaments since 1959, with live broadcasts on SVT. Since 2019, girls have also participated in the tournament.
“It is with great joy that I receive the news that Kalmar will host this classic event. Considering the recent investments in facilities, it feels extra exciting that TV-pucken’s final games in 2025 will be decided in Kalmar. We have built up an ability to handle large events, and we have a rich and active community life in the municipality, which we really care about. We hope for many visitors from all over Sweden who contribute to creating a wonderful audience celebration, and who get to experience Kalmar as a destination and its fantastic surroundings.”
– Lasse Johansson (S), Chairman of both Destination Kalmar and the Culture and Leisure Committee of Kalmar Municipality
