Destination Östersund’s CEO Takes Over as Chairman of Swedish Destination Network
In a significant development for Sweden’s tourism industry, Mikael Jonsson, CEO of Destination Östersund, has been elected as the new chairman of the Swedish Destination Network (Svenska Destinationsnätverket). This announcement came at the conclusion of the Swedish Destination Days held in Helsingborg, where members from three national networks gathered for workshops and knowledge exchange.
The tourism industry plays a crucial role in Sweden’s growth and development, creating jobs, attracting investments, and contributing to the attractiveness of places for both residents and visitors. A New Era for Swedish Destination Network
During the subsequent annual meeting of SNDMO (Swedish Network of Destination Management Organizations), Mikael Jonsson was chosen as the new chairman. The organization also decided to change its name to Svenska Destinationsnätverket (Swedish Destination Network).
Expressing his enthusiasm for the new role, Jonsson stated: It is an honorable task that I am extremely happy to be entrusted with. I am passionate about collaboration and continuing the work of giving the Swedish Destination Network a strong and united voice going forward.
