No Limits® Celebrates 10-Year Journey with Graffiti Jam and Competition

In 2024, Borås will commemorate the 10th anniversary of No Limits®. September will bring festivities to Magasinsgatan, while summer visitors can enjoy a specially designed guided tour through the Hej Borås app.

The weekend of September 7-8 will see a range of activities on Magasinsgatan 8 in Borås to celebrate No Limits®’ decade-long journey. Events include a graffiti jam at the Open Wall, a competition featuring graffiti artists, guided tours, and other exciting happenings. Borås TME is organizing the competition in collaboration with Magasinsgatan 8/Borås Stad and Joel Hjort, known as the graffiti artist Punta. The search for contestants is already underway.

“In the competition, artists will paint on banners set up in the area around Magasinsgatan 8. The works will then be judged by a jury, which includes established graffiti artists from various style schools. The prize pool includes a winning sum of 25,000 kronor,” says Joel Hjort.

Coinciding with the celebration, the Borås Art Biennal will be taking place. Borås Konstmuseum will host this year’s NUAN conference (National Urban Art Network) on September 6-7, featuring two days of lectures, discussions, and activities.

The specially designed guided tour in the Hej Borås app will be available from mid-June, offering a nostalgic journey through No Limit works in Borås.

“Our tour will focus on selected street art pieces created during the popular festivals over the years. It provides a unique insight into the various works and Borås’ artistic development,” says Marita Curran, project manager at Borås TME.

    The History of No Limits®

No Limits® was first organized in Borås in September 2014 as one of Sweden’s first large-scale street art festivals. Its success made street art an integral part of Borås’ identity. The festival’s legacy can be seen in the 40 or so mural paintings and countless street art installations around the city center, ready to be experienced year-round.
